If we are on the same wavelength, we will understand each other better.
Getting to Know Each Other
My name is Silviu Ciucă, and I would like to share a little about myself so you can get to know me better.
Although many would assume I attended an economics-focused high school, I actually graduated from a theoretical high school—Mathematics-Physics, at the “Vasile Alecsandri” National College in Galați. This strong foundation helped me develop an analytical mindset and logical reasoning—essential skills in my field today.
"Head in the Clouds" vs. "Photographic Artist"
I was a child with my head in the clouds, a dreamy teenager, and—though few would believe it—a rebel from a certain perspective. I used to skip classes, daydreaming about becoming a photographer. Now, I understand why, at times, I conduct audits “for the love of art,” temporarily forgetting about profit.
"Mediocre" vs. "Read Between the Lines"
I have never been a supporter of rote learning or solely focusing on quantitative goals. I have always been driven by curiosity and a desire to understand things deeply. For me, quality has always come first. Whether in education or my career, I have always sought to understand the full context and apply the best solutions to each situation.
Grades were never an end in themselves for me. I always tried to find the practical value in the knowledge being taught and to understand the principles behind theoretical concepts. If I didn’t understand something, I couldn’t truly assimilate it.
My favorite subject was physics. Even today, I prioritize quality over quantity when setting objectives. I strive to deeply understand the context and specifics of each client before applying appropriate audit procedures or, in consulting engagements, providing well-founded solutions.
"Too Honest" vs. "Trustworthy"
Even during my studies, I placed great emphasis on honesty and ethics. I preferred receiving a lower grade over cheating, and this principle has guided my professional career. In financial auditing, integrity is crucial, and I have chosen to build my work on clear values: transparency, objectivity, and responsibility.
A Free Spirit
I was a young “revolutionary” who, during the 1986 events in Brașov, slipped leaflets calling for rebellion into mailboxes. I wandered the streets and cinemas of Galați between December 16 and 22, 1989, hoping to capture in my photos the courage of those protesting against the dictatorship.
I have always been drawn to independence and the freedom to shape my own professional path.
I admire people who believe in values, but even more so those who live by them, even when they have something to lose. Freedom was the first value I became fully aware of. It formed the foundation for all the others. So, choosing a liberal profession and stepping into entrepreneurship came naturally to me.
A Photographer of Financial Statements
My parents encouraged me to become an engineer, but after the fall of the communist regime, I realized that engineering didn’t quite match my nature.
At the last moment, I opted for a different path and applied for a highly sought-after specialization in the post-revolution era: International Economic Relations.
After graduating and working for a few years, my dream of becoming a photographer came true—but in a slightly different way. I didn’t become a photographer in the traditional sense; rather, I became a sort of “photographer” of financial statements—a financial auditor.
I found myself capturing images from a different perspective—that of financial statements. Today, as a financial auditor, I analyze and interpret the economic realities of my clients, offering solutions based on rigor and precision.
Nothing Happens by Chance
I believe that my dreams and personality have unconsciously guided my steps: My passion for photography, along with my critical, analytical, and organized mindset, led me to auditing. My desire for freedom led me to entrepreneurship. My perfectionism and integrity led me to the clients I work with today.
Why Auditing?
Because auditing is not just a technical activity—it is a responsibility. Through hard work, experience, and a keen critical eye, I have built a strong professional career based on diligence and performance.
My collaboration with clients is more than just a technical process; it is a partnership. My goal is to provide them with not only an audit service but also a clear perspective on how they can optimize their operations and ensure compliance with current regulations.
